Project #4: BUSINESS CARDS

Image
These business cards are made using both logos from the previous project. Our goal was to get inspired by business card designs online, finding aesthetically pleasing or well-layed out designs. We had to provide made-up contact information such as phone numbers, emails, and website to make the business cards look as real as possible.  My first card is sleek and modern, putting the logo on display with tinier contact informations to the side. The second one is a front-and-back model, with a large logo on one side, along with all the contact information one would need, and a matching side with the logo alone. I used thin lines throughout both designs to add an artistic element and make both designs more appealing to the eye.

Project #3: LOGO

The third project was all about logos. My made-up company is called Bloom Yoga Studios, and I was inspired by different symbols associated with yoga such as the classic tree pose, lotus flowers, and fun, bright colors. My first logo is more modern and mature looking, mostly black and white with accent colors. The second one takes a completely different direction, with a younger look, much more colorful, complete with fun fonts. The two logos are both very different in style and even set-up, but can represent the same made-up company.

Project #2: CALLIGRAM

Image
The calligram project was completed in Adobe Illustrator, teaching us how to insert an image, trace an image with the pen tool, and replace those lines with text. It was a simple process, but difficult to get all the curves and turns of the image as perfect as the picture I was tracing.  My calligram depicts a line drawing of an elephant. The text over top is that of a poem describing the elephant as a sacred creature, repeated multiple times in order to make up all of the lines within the image. I used the grayscale to change the shade of some text, and text size was increased along curves to add depth to the final image.

Project #1: CANVAS

Image
This was the first project of the semester, testing our ability to quickly pick up the techniques of simple HTML code in Adobe Dreamweaver. We were provided the specific codes for various shapes, colors, gradients, and inserting elements, making it an overall simple process once I got the hang of it. The challenges included figuring out what purpose each number in the code served, moving the points of the shapes to specific positions, making it difficult to be exact with placement at times. My scene shows flowers blooming on a bright, sunny day, a simple landscape to help me get accommodated to the program, HTML code, and the class itself. I used various codes to insert circles, rectangles, lines, arcs, semicircles, clouds, and an online image. Overall, the program was easy to navigate, but time consuming as I worked hard to move and resize each shape.
